Andreas Ackerup × 5475

Using an analog camera with 135 mm film, photographer Andreas Ackerup has taken one self-portrait every day since 1998, each neatly catalogued and digitized. In this collaboration project, facial recognition algorithms and custom built image processing software were employed to find new ways of looking at 15 years worth of self-portraits – 5475 images to be exact – from the years 1998-2013.

15 year mosaicAll 5475 unprocessed images from 1998 to 2013 (and one black rectangle) arranged on a 74×74 grid to resemble a selected self-portrait. Serendipity: 74×74=5475+1.
