Tunnel automata

This is a tunnel decoration made for Outer space arkitekter. The tunnel is located in Råcksta, Sweden and the design is based on elementary cellular automata, which are simple rules for generating surprisingly intricate grid patterns. A stylized weave design was generated from these patterns, where colored ribbons run from top to bottom and white ribbons run along the entire length of each wall. The process was highly automated, from the procedurally generated weave design to generation of over 100 high resultion print originals.
